During the Second World War, the school was occupied and used as a hospital by the Japanese Army. The Covered Playground was once their kitchen. Nowadays, this is where students assemble before school and after recess.

A statue of the Holy Family stands at the entrance of the Covered Playground. Jesus is in the middle with Mary and Joseph standing behind him. The Holy Family is the model of all Christian families. It shows parents’ devotion and love to their children. Children also trust and obey their parents. The statue depicts true love of families.

第二次大戰期間，學校曾被日軍佔用作醫院，而有蓋操場就是當時的廚房。現在，有蓋操場已成為學生上學及小息後的集隊處。

有蓋操場入口處的聖家像保守着瑪利諾這個大家庭。耶穌站在中間，靠着背後的若瑟和聖母。聖家是所有家庭的典範，充分表現了父母對孩子無私的奉獻和悉心的愛護，而孩子則全心信賴和孝順父母，體現愛的真諦。
